Michael Speers serves as a board member and volunteer at Jion Academy, where he leads the mentorship program for REDS graduates, including counseling program participants on college attendance and scholarship opportunities. Michael also assists REDS Girls Executive Director Jacqueline Hunt-Willis in the development and execution of its strategic plan to grow its student enrollment through an expanded donor and volunteer base. Michael’s community involvement includes serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster youth and as a crisis counselor and trainer for Crisis Support Services of Alameda County.

Michael brings more than 35 years of business experience to his support of Jion Academy and its leadership team. He is President and Founder of East Bay Investment Group, an Oakland based commercial real estate brokerage and investment company. Michael holds a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Arizona. Michael and his wife Cynthia have 3 grown children who all live and work in the Oakland area.
