Vijay D'Silva has been a member of the board of Jion Academy since 2022. He has also been a volunteer technology instructor with Jion Academy since 2016. His responsibilities with Jion Academy include identifying online learning platforms, procuring educational technology equipment, and designing interactive technology curricula that are age- and ability-appropriate for the different cohorts at Jion Academy. These curricula cover algebraic and logical problem solving, mobile application design, cybersecurity and misinformation, electrical circuits and motors, technical presentation skills and interview preparation.

Vijay works as an engineer with Google's cybersecurity team. Vijay holds a doctorate in computer science from the University of Oxford, a master’s in computer science from the University of Zurich, and a bachelor’s in technology from IIT Bombay. He has also held research positions at UC Berkeley where he worked on cybersecurity, the University of New South Wales in Sydney, and ETH Zurich, with both those positions involving electronics design. He continues his affiliation with the research community by serving on grant and paper review committees.

Vijay practices both Shotokan Karate and yoga. He received the rank of Shodan from Mr. Tsutomu Ohshima and was a volunteer instructor at the Berkeley YMCA before the pandemic. He has also taught yoga and breathing exercises at Jion Academy.
